HTML directions with a google map: http://www.cs.duke.edu/~chase/directions.html Jeff Chase and Nonna Skumanich 3413 Rugby Road Durham NC 27707 419-8420 The basic idea is to get on NC route 751 (Academy Road and/or Hope Valley Road), which heads N/S between our house and the Duke campus. It can be reached from I-40 on the south and from I-85 on the north. Executive summary: from Hope Valley Road get on Rugby Road and proceed to #3413. Note: mileages below are not exact. From the north: From I-85, get on 15-501 S toward Chapel Hill. The exit sign will say "Chapel Hill" and "Duke University West Campus". Travel S for a short distance, then exit onto 751 S, also called Cameron or Academy Road. Travel S on 751 (Academy) past the campus. Stay on 751: it makes a hard left onto University Drive in two miles or so, then a hard right onto Hope Valley Road in another half mile or so. Continue S on 751 (Hope Valley Road) for another two miles. Make a right onto Dover, then a left onto Rugby Road. Continue on Rugby for a short distance (a half-mile beyond Bristol). If you miss the right onto Dover, keep going on 751 for another mile and make a right onto Rugby (see directions from south below). If you hit Woodcroft, SR 54 or I-40, you passed it. A faster alternative from Duke and points north is to come south on 15-501, take the Martin Luther King exit near the landmark "pickle" office tower, and stay on MLK way as it becomes Archdale and until it intersects with Hope Valley Road (751) at a traffic light. Make the right on Hope Valley Road, and then the right on Dover in about one mile per the directions above. From the south: From I-40 exit onto 751 N, also called Hope Valley Road. Continue for 1 mile, past SR 54, the Woodcroft shopping center and housing developments. In about 1 mile, make a left onto Rugby Road. The turnoff is at a dip in the road, just before a bridge over a small creek, with a sign for Saint Stephen's Church. Stay on Rugby for 2 winding miles, keeping right at all forks. Our house is #3413 Rugby Road. The number is prominently posted on the mailbox. However, it is up on a small hill at a bend in the road, so you will miss it if you are going too fast. It is directly across Rugby Road from Trafalgar Place, a small cul-de-sac off of Rugby. Parking: For parties, park on Trafalgar Place.
