Someone (Brett?) left his book in my office. You can pick it up from Mrs. Currin in HA 245.
The first mid-semester exam is on Monday, Feb 14, during class. You may bring one 8in times 11.5in sheet with notes on both sides. The exam is closed book/closed notes.
I will have extra office hours in HA 263 on Friday, Feb 11, 10:10am-11:10am.
Homework 1 is posted.
The syllabus now lists all Fridays on which there is no class.
I have placed a copy of Burton's book on reserve in the Hill library.

The ciphertext of problem 4 is incorrect in earlier editions of the textbook. Here is the correct code.
There are no office hours on Wednesday, March 23 (I will be at NYU).
Homework is due at 4:59pm on Monday, March 28. The second exam is Wednesday, March 30.

I have rescheduled one free class from Fri Mar 18 to Wed Mar 23 (before Spring Holiday); see the syllabus. The reason is that I will be out of town the week of Mar 21, and I will be here on Fri Mar 18 to teach class. Mon Mar 21 my graduate student will teach the class.

I will hold office hours on Monday, May 2, 2pm-4. The exam is on Wednesday, May 4, 9am-11am, in the regular classroom. You may bring 3 sheets with notes written on both sides.
You can pick up your graded homework 4 (see sorted grades) on Monday during my office hours or at the end of the exam on Wednesday.
