  1. Should I be a Computer Science graduate student to take this class?
    Answer: No. However, you are encouraged to talk to the instructor first if you are not a Computer Science graduate student.
  2. What are the prerequisites for this class?
    Answer: There is no hard prerequisite for this class. You should be willing to read technical papers from different disciplines and be able to extract the high-level ideas from them. Please note that, apart from general participation in class, you will not be tested on, e.g., how well you have understood the math in a specific paper.
  3. My research is related to the general theme covered in this class. Should I take the class?
    Answer: Of course! Note that the bulk of your grade will come from the project. In the project you are encouraged to work on problems that interest you and fall under the broad umbrella of self-managing systems. Furthermore, in the class you may come across techniques from other disciplines that can be applied in your research.
  4. My research is related to a specific topic covered in this class. Should I take the class?
    Answer: Of course! Same answer as the previous question.
