Carlo Tomasi's Contact Information
Before you contact me: I receive many email requests to join my lab in various ways. I used to try and answer these individually, but I just get too many electronic messages now. Here are a few general-purpose answers:
- I typically take one or two new graduate students every year. However, I never interfere with the work of the PhD admissions committee in mydepartment, so please don't let me know that you applied, or ask me for your chances of being admitted, etc.
- If I am looking for interns or postdocs, I advertise my needs and the opportunities I am able to offer. If I do not advertise, it means that I have neither plans nor funding for new hires.
- I do not fund master students. They are too busy studying for classes, and stay here too little to become truly productive in their research.
- I only host visitors I know in person. I enjoy meeting new people, but email is not my preferred channel for making new acquaintances.
- If you are a Duke undergraduate student and want to try out some research in computer vision, please do contact me. I may not have funds all the time, but I often have projects to work on for credit. However, I'll expect you to know either some programming or some math.
